Mathematics
Enjoy working with numbers, looking for and recognizing
patterns, manipulating mathematical symbols, and solving logic
puzzles and brain teasers? If so, a mathematics major may be for
you.
The mathematics major at CMU is designed to prepare students to work in areas which require critical thinking skills and the ability to work with mathematical concepts. Problem solving is needed in every field imaginable, which is one reason for the diversity of jobs held by mathematicians.
