Grants
Federal Pell Grant
The Federal Pell Grant
is the foundation for all federal student financial aid. The
Pell Grant program provides grants to undergraduate students who
demonstrate financial need based on the results of their FAFSA
application. Students are eligible for up to 12 semesters of
Pell awards. The Pell award amounts for the 2013-2014 academic
year range from $605-$5,645 for students with Effective Family
Contributions (as calculated by the FAFSA) of $5,081 or less.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
(FSEOG)
The FSEOG program is a campus-based grant
available to undergraduate students who demonstrate an
exceptional financial need based on their FAFSA application. CMU
is given limited FSEOG funds and once they are depleted, can no
longer award FSEOG funds to students. Priority is given to those
students who have submitted their FAFSA by March 15th and are a
Federal Pell Grant recipient.
State Grants
Access Missouri Grant is
available for Missouri residents attending full time, have
submitted their FAFSA prior to April 1 each year, and
demonstrate financial need based on FAFSA results. To maintain
the grant award, students must achieve at least a 2.5 cumulative
GPA. Access Missouri Grant award amounts depend state
legislative activity.
Approximately 41 percent of CMU students are eligible for the Pell Grant.
