From President Marianne Inman: Greetings, As I prepare to retire from Central Methodist University after a most remarkable 18 years, I send you my profound thanks for your role in making this time one of transformation for Central and deepest fulfillment for me personally and professionally. When I came here in the summer of 1995, I knew that this was a special place in so many ways...committed to students, a spirit of oneness in that service to students, and a place that naturally attracted good people...people whose lives and work exemplified the CMU mission. Now in 2013 these qualities still characterize Central Methodist University, and we all look forward to continued progress on all fronts as we move forward at the Fayette campus, around the state, online...and most likely beyond. The selection of Dr. Roger Drake as CMU’s next president is an excellent choice. He and his wife Judy will, as many have already said, “fit right in� to our community and our culture. He has been working hard since his appointment on February 1 to learn as much as he can about us so that he will truly “hit the ground running� when they arrive here on July 1. I cannot imagine a more suitable person to whom we may entrust our precious Central, and I feel sure that you will show them the same courtesies and considerations and support that you have shown to David and me. We have especially appreciated the many good wishes and acts of kindness that have been expressed to us in recent weeks. I will forever treasure Central Methodist University and the opportunities it has afforded me. To have participated in the extraordinary growth and progress of this wonderful institution has been a privilege beyond measure. I know that we are poised for even greater accomplishments in the future, and I look forward to learning of all the milestones that are yet to be attained. Blessings and warmest regards always to you, and thank you so very much for the difference that you have made and are making in the lives and experiences of CMU and our students.
