Almost, Maine

CMU will partner with Talking Horse, with performances at their new venue in Columbia
Almost, Maine by John Cariani: On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost's residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night's dream.

The Marriage of Figaro

Cast List, Photo Gallery

The CMU Opera Workshop presents a production of The Marriage of Figaro performed in English and Italian. Sunday's Matinee performance begins at 2:00 p.m.

Something's afoot in the castle! The clever valet, Figaro, is about to marry his pretty bride-to-be Susanna, but his skirt-chasing master, Count Almaviva, has eyes for her, too, and is determined to thwart their intentions. A rebellion of classes ensues and Figaro, Susanna and the Countess conspire to expose the Count's infidelity and bring him to his knees to beg forgiveness for his philandering ways. In a madcap frenzy of disguises, mistaken identities and amorous intrigue, all is reconciled; and love is restored for all in the Almaviva household.

Mozart's sublime operatic comedy, The Marriage of Figaro, is filled with the most joyous, heartfelt and masterful music with an amusing array of wonderfully flawed and human characters who never fail to entertain and delight!
