The purpose of this site is to communicate information about the Central Methodist University Office of Career Development and the James C. Denneny, Jr. Career Development Center to students and interested parties. This information is provided as a service and should not be construed as a contractual obligation. The administrators of the site make all reasonable efforts to verify any information presented herein as reliable and accurate; users agree that the information may be deemed reliable but not guaranteed and therefore should confirm said information independently.

Electronic Resource Usage

Handshake the CMU online job bank and web-based recruiting system available on the CMU website is provided in partnership with the CSM/NACElink Network, a national recruiting network. CSM/NACElink is an alliance of the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), a nonprofit professional organization for career centers and employers, the Direct Employers Association, a nonprofit association of national employers, and Handshake, a state-of-the-art technology provider of web-based tools and software solutions. The James C. Denneny, Jr. Career Development Center expects employers to follow and adhere to the NACE Principles for Ethical Professional Practice. Please remember that these affiliates do not review job postings on individual school web sites. Site users are urged to validate job postings and use caution and common sense when applying. Do not disclose Social Security numbers, credit card information, or bank account numbers with unknown employers.

With regard to the use of Handshake, students' profile data and resume will reside on NACElink Network servers, and policies governing this data are covered in the NACElink Privacy Policy. Student and employer information from our website may be used to construct aggregate reports that assist the Career Development Center in program planning, for statistical reports, or to inform clients of services and programs that may be of interest. This information may also be used to troubleshoot technical problems.

Security Requirements

Central Methodist University (CMU) is committed to preserving the privacy of our constituencies. There are sections of the CMU Career Development website that require a username and password for access to particular resources. The secure, password-protected applications allow CMU students and/or alumni to utilize Eagle JobNet, Focus 2, Reference USA and Skillsone for job searching, educational and career planning information, self-assessments, company/organization profiles, etc. These programs are for Central Methodist University students and/or graduates exclusively.
