Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant

GENERAL SUMMARY:

 Position duties include Designing and implanting safe and practical programing for 3-4 teams including varsity and reserve level athletes. Assistance in football programming and team lifts. As well as maintaining weight room and equipment.  This position will start in the Fall 2022 semester.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Programing – 15%
  • Maintenance – 15%
  • Communication with supervisor/sport coaches – 15%
  • Continued Career based Education – 15%
  • Upkeep of academic performance – 40%

 

 

MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

N/A

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

               

Bachelor’s in exercise science, kinesiology or similar pathways, Design to be Strength coach at high level, CSCS or CSCCA or pursuit of certification.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Be able to stand for one hour at a time, lift at least 45lbs,

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Communication with others both above and below on a chain of command. Relationship building with athletes in a professional manner, ability to articulate demands and expectations. Basic knowledge of Excel.

 

OTHER INFORMATION AND ATTRIBUTES:

 

Weight room hour normally operate from 6am – 5pm. Not all staff is required during operating hours.
