Foreign Language Adjunct

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Adjunct Professor in a foreign language. The successful applicant will be able to teach courses in at least one foreign language (e.g. Spanish, French, German, Italian, Latin, etc.) on the Fayette campus.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare for and teach scheduled classes: 50%

Grade coursework and provide students with feedback in a timely manner: 40%

Hold office hours to provide students with extra assistance: 10%

MANAGERIAL/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

N/A

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates must have a minimum of a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a foreign language (e.g. Spanish, French, German, Italian, Latin, etc.).

Prior experience teaching a foreign language preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit or stand for the duration of class periods.  Must be able to speak in a clear and loud voice.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to effectively use email and Microsoft Office products.

Familiarity with using a course management system.

Candidates must be able to travel to the Fayette campus.
