GENERAL SUMMARY: This full-time, benefits-eligible, non-tenure-track position carries a 9-month contract beginning in August 2026. Review of applications begins February 2, 2026.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will:
- Teach a 4/4 load (four courses each fall and spring semester).
- Teach multiple sections of Public Speaking each semester, a foundational general education requirement.
- Contribute to teaching the Communication core curriculum, which may include teaching upper-level courses.
- Participate in assessment of program and general education curriculum.
- Advise undergraduate students, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in departmental and university service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. in Communication or a closely related field preferred;
- Master’s degree required (ABD considered, if degree completion is imminent).
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality undergraduate teaching.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student body and contribute to an inclusive learning environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The successful candidate will work approximately 40 hours per week on the Fayette campus.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Communication and collaboration with colleagues and students
- Integration of iPads into the classroom environment
- Effective use of Canvas learning management system
- Functional skills in Microsoft Office Suite and OneDrive
