Job Title: Digital U-AI Coordinator |
General Summary: The Digital U Coordinator is responsible for providing coordination, technical support, documentation, and implementation assistance for Digital U. The Digital U Coordinator supports the effective use of existing and emerging technologies by faculty, staff, and students, including iPads, approved AI platforms, Maker Space equipment, and immersive technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality.
The Digital U Coordinator assists the Director of Digital Learning in supporting technology-enhanced teaching and learning, promoting responsible and effective use of digital tools, coordinating professional development activities, maintaining documentation, and providing first-line user support. This position helps ensure that Digital U initiatives are implemented consistently, efficiently, and sustainably across the University.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Support Digital U implementation and provide first-line assistance for faculty, staff, and students using iPads, approved AI platforms, Maker Space equipment, immersive technologies, and other digital learning tools. (35%)
- Assist with the coordination of Digital U activities, including onboarding, user communication, event support, professional development sessions, and campus engagement related to digital learning technologies. (20%)
- Create, update, and maintain appropriate documentation related to Digital U processes and procedures, including tutorials, quick-start guides, FAQs, training materials, and support resources. (15%)
- Assist with tracking, organizing, and supporting equipment, licenses, software updates, and related technology resources used in Digital U initiatives. (15%)
- Support Maker Space and immersive technology implementation, including equipment setup, user support, training assistance, scheduling support, and preparation of materials for faculty, staff, and student use. (10%)
- Assist with administrative support, feedback collection, reporting, and other Digital U needs as directed by the Director of Digital Learning. (5%)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities: May assist with the training, scheduling, and coordination of student workers assigned to support Digital U, Maker Space, or related technology initiatives.
Education & Experience:
Minimum:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Fluency with Microsoft Office
- Proficiency with iOS devices
- Competency with learning technologies, digital tools, or educational technology support
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Strong customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform duties with minimal supervision while also working collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and other University personnel.
- Ability & willingness to learn new technologies and assist users with varying levels of technology confidence.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree
- Experience in higher education, educational technology, instructional support, information technology, training, or related setting.
- Familiarity with the development of agentic AI bots, including agentic AI tools and workflows.
- Experience supporting iPads, AI platforms, learning management systems, Maker Space tools, immersive technologies, or mobile device management systems.
- Experience creating documentation, tutorials, training materials, or user support resources.
- Experience with JAMF mobile device management platform.
Physical Requirements: Regularly required to sit for long periods of time. Regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle technology equipment and reach with hands and arms. Clear near-field vision is required as well as the ability to speak clearly. Occasional lifting of 25 pounds or more may be required. Occasional walking across campus and assisting with technology setup in various campus locations may be required.
Other Information and Attributes: Some evening and weekend work may be required to support training sessions, campus events, Maker Space activities, or Digital U programming. Limited travel may be required.
Other Responsibilities:
- Provides support for the Digital U initiative by assisting with the implementation, troubleshooting, and promotion of effective digital learning technologies.
- Communicates with faculty, staff, students, and parents when appropriate for the purpose of providing support, increasing Digital U awareness, and assisting with Digital U implementation.
- Assists with the implementation of Digital U policies and procedures as directed by the Director of Digital Learning.
- Helps identify, plan, and support professional development activities that foster collaboration and adoption of effective practices for digital learning.
- Supports University efforts to expand knowledge and experimentation with mobile, AI, augmented reality, and virtual reality technologies.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of materials, including procedures, tutorials, presentations, manuals, assessments, and support documents.
- Assists with equipment organization, inventory tracking, software updates, license support, and related Digital U resources.
- Supports assessment and feedback efforts to help determine whether Digital U tools, training, and resources are meeting faculty, staff, and student needs.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, and training sessions for the purpose of gathering information, supporting Digital U functions, and representing the University in a professional manner.
